Motel 6/Studio 6 opened 55 properties in 2011

Accor North America opened 55 hotels in 2011, all under franchise contracts. The latest openings include 49 Motel 6 and six Studio 6 properties with a room count of more than 4,100.
As part of the company’s asset-light strategy and goals to expand its franchise network, Motel 6 plans to add at least 50 locations in 2012, including further expansion in Canada and into major urban and metropolitan areas. Studio 6 plans to add approximately 10 locations in 2012.

The 2011 additions cover 23 U.S. states and two Canadian provinces. Franchise locations account for approximately 45 percent of the Motel 6/Studio 6 network. The following hotels are now open:
