Hotels step up Cyber Monday marketing

Cyber Monday isn't just for online retailers anymore. In their quest to boost brand.com bookings, hotels large and small are jumping into the Cyber Monday fray, offering online-only discounts that kick off today.
USA Today has the most comprehensive roundup of hotel Cyber Monday deals, and the Los Angeles Times has another crop.
While these promotions are of course geared toward the traveler, it's interesting to see how different companies and brands are interpreting the Cyber Monday theme.
Best Western, for example, is offering a gift card deal that requires participants to first enroll in Best Western Rewards.
Marriott's approach is targeted to customers looking for sun during the winter doldrums--its Cyber Monday sale offers savings at JW Marriott, Marriott and Renaissance hotels in Florida only
InterContinental Hotels Group upped the ante on its 2010 Black Friday/Cyber Monday deal this year by launching its "Gotta Get 100" Twitter campaign.
