Laufen chosen for luxury Cape Town hotel

29 Nov, 2011

The Pod Hotel has been fitted with Laufen’s Palomba collection, as visualized by the Greg Wright Architects’ in-house design company SITE Interior Design, which chose Laufen’s Palomba sanitaryware to “create the feeling of a spa-like retreat for guests staying at the boutique hotel.”

Designed by Ludovico and Roberto Palomba, the furniture and ceramics in the Palomba range combine geometric and organic shapes, said to fit into the overall design of the hotel space, which combines a range of natural materials and finishes. The open-plan nature of the Pod Hotel’s bedroom designs incorporates the Palomba sanitaryware, with its minimalist styling blending into the overall space.

Palomba products specified for the Pod Hotel include an asymmetric bathtub, wall-hung countertop washbasins, and washbasins with extended space adjacent to the bowl to provide room for guest toiletries and bathroom essentials. Each of the pieces chosen is used to create focal points in different areas of the bathroom.

The Pod Hotel is located outside South Africa’s Cape Town, overlooking Camps Bay beach.
