Will Iraq become the new hot destination? Trade Arabia reports that construction of Range Hospitality’s $175-million Al Rawdatain Residences hotel project is underway in Karbala, Iraq. Based in Dubai and Bahrain, the company has successfully sold Shariah-compliant fractional ownership and is expected to complete the 12-story project by the end of 2013. The hotel is being designed by Dewan Architects and Engineers, whose projects include the Yas Hotel in Abu Dhabi. Munaf Ali, CEO, Range Hospitality, said: "The group always looks for potential markets and we found that Iraq offers a very favorable foreign investment environment making it a lucrative market for investment."
