Hotel supply and tourism up in NYC

Yesterday we reported on Canada's hotel development boom, and today it's back to New York. An article in The New York Times summarizes the city's hotel performance over the past 12 months, citing notable developments opened or in the works from Denihan Hospitality Group, Ian Schrager, Sydell Group, Starwood Capital Group and others.
New York City tourism increased by 3.5 percent in 2011 to a record 50.5 million visitors, according to the article, and total hotel revenue in NYC hit $7.21 billion in 2011, according to STR.
