ReardonSmith Architects chosen to design Regent Porto Montenegro

7 Feb, 2012

Regent Hotels and Resorts has been named as the operator of the first hotel to be developed in Porto Montenegro, the new marina destination on the coast of Montenegro, masterplanned and designed by ReardonSmith Architects. Work on-site has already begun, and the hotel, with detail design also by ReardonSmith, is scheduled to open in the summer of 2014.

The inspiration for the architectural design of Regent Porto Montenegro is said to have come from the houses on the Adriatic coastline. As such, all the buildings are clad in Montenegrin stone and render, with terracotta roof tiles. The arcade that wraps around the hotel also echoes the arched colonnades typical of the region’s architecture.

Regent Porto Montenegro comprises of 34 guestrooms and 46 serviced residences. Two four-bedroom spa penthouses, each with a pool and surrounded by terraces, top the two sea-facing wings. Also, two two-bedroom penthouses top the central section of the fifth floor. All the guestrooms and apartments have balconies; hotel rooms are typically 40 to 45 square meters (430 to 484 square feet), excluding outdoor terraces. All the guestrooms and apartments offer sea and mountain views.
