Kansas City's Crossroads Hotel to open in October

Aparium Hotel Group is preparing to open the Crossroads Hotel in Kansas City in October 2018. Located in the former bottling and distribution plant for the Pabst Brewing Company and the adjacent former offices of Tom Pendergast, the hotel will rise four stories at the center of the Crossroads Arts District. The 131-key hotel will also bring multiple food & beverage concepts to the area, including Lazia, a modern Italian Steakhouse; Percheron, an indoor/outdoor rooftop beer garden and XR, a casual eatery and bar.

Located at the intersection of Center Street and West 21st Street in the Crossroads Arts District, the hotel will be within close proximity to downtown Kansas City and the Power and Light District, as well as Union Station, an attraction and transportation hub.

“It has been an incredible year of expansion for Aparium Hotel Group, with the most rewarding part being the opportunity to experience cities like Kansas City that support arts and culture and have strong local pride,” Mario Tricoci, co-founder and CEO of Aparium Hotel Group, said in a statement. “We are excited to bring our signature hospitality style and blend it with the contagious energy of this city to ensure the Crossroads Hotel is a meaningful addition to the neighborhood and a sought-out destination for travelers.”

"Kansas City is a natural next destination for our brand as we look to plant our roots in the most exciting cities around the country," Kevin Robinson, co-founder and principal of Aparium Hotel Group, said in a statement. "In true Aparium style, our team has spent a great amount of time in the market getting to know the local makers, artisans, purveyors and business owners who make this city unique. We're excited to partner with them in different ways to ensure the spirit of Kansas City can be felt and experienced within the hotel."

The Crossroads Hotel will include a 2,000-square-foot public gallery and studio space for an ongoing artist-in-residence program. The program is curated by Kansas City’s El Dorado, also the hotel’s architecture firm, and will focus on local artists and artists with historic ties to Kansas City.

Designed in partnership with Simeone Deary Design Group, the hotel’s design maintains the integrity of the original buildings with industrial accents seen throughout the public spaces and guestrooms. Amongst the hotel’s 131 guestrooms will be hospitality suites appointed with bars, billiards and meeting areas.

Crossroads Hotel will tap local artists, designers and purveyors to showcase their talent throughout the hotel and restaurants, including in-room wallpaper designed by local tattoo artist Mikey Wheeler, ceramic lighting hand-painted by local artist Melanie Sherman, select handcrafted pieces from Castilleja Furniture, and more. Local food and beverage collaborators such as Messenger Coffee and distillery J. Rieger & Co. will be found at the hotel’s restaurant and bar outlets and on in-room private bar menus.
