Kimpton Hotels is scheduled to open a boutique hotel with a rooftop pool and restaurant in South Beach. Hotel Palomar South Beach, which is scheduled to open in 2018, is owned/developed by The Finvarb Group. The architect is Kobi Karp Architecture and Interior Design.
As Kimpton’s eighth hotel in Florida, the canal-front property will be located in Sunset Harbour at 1750 Alton Road. The 96-room hotel will rise five stories around a central atrium, and will have a canopy-inspired rooftop pool, gourmet restaurant and fitness center.
San Francisco-based Kimpton Hotels & Restaurants, a collection of boutique hotels and restaurants, is the first to introduce the boutique hotel concept to the US. It was founded in 1981 by Bill Kimpton. On December 16, 2014, Kimpton Hotels & Restaurants Group was acquired by InterContinental Hotels Group.
