Marriott prepares to open new AC Hotel in Sunnyvale, Calif.

The AC Hotel Sunnyvale Cupertino is preparing to open its doors this summer. Located in Sunnyvale at the intersection of South Fair Oaks Ave. and El Camino Real, the hotel is situated near restaurants, arts and cultural attractions, top tech and global companies, sporting venues and is eight miles from the San Jose International Airport.

AC Hotels is a lifestyle brand within the Marriott International global portfolio. AC Hotel Sunnyvale Cupertino is the first property in a cluster of planned hotels in the Bay Area to be introduced by owner T2 Hospitality and managed by Evolution Hospitality. Future hotel locations include Santa Clara, Palo Alto and a second Sunnyvale property.

"We’re thrilled to bring our first AC Hotel under the T2 development portfolio to the Bay Area with the opening of the AC Hotel Sunnyvale Cupertino,” Bo Patel, chief portfolio officer at T2 Hospitality. “With this collection of new AC Hotels, particularly with this first property, our vision is to create a completely reimagined business and leisure travel destination for the Bay Area.”

"We think Sunnyvale is going to love this hotel as both a new kind of business travel destination and a new local hot spot," Mike Lerman, GM at AC Hotel Sunnyvale Cupertino, Evolution Hospitality. "We're looking forward to bringing the practical elegance of the AC Hotel brand to this area, and have the perfect partners in T2 and Marriott to do so."

Designated as a LEED Silver Certified property, the five-floor AC Hotel Sunnyvale Cupertino has a total of 182 rooms, including 107 kings, 22 enhanced kings, 47 double queens and 6 suites. With 2,454 square feet of clean, purposeful common space, the property will also include an Innovation Lab, a 815-square foot distinct, inspiring meeting space featuring Microsoft Hub technology, that encourages creative gatherings with an adjacent outdoor patio. Meeting options also include AC’s signature Media Salon, a smaller, fully equipped media room for video conferencing and strategy sessions.

The hotel's guestrooms were designed as part of a partnership between Marriott International and T2 Development. The hotel's king rooms have a deconstructed bath and freestanding vanity, creating an island element. Other highlights in the rooms include a floating desk, luggage bench and upholstered headboard wall.

AC Hotel Sunnyvale Cupertino will also include the brand’s signature spaces including:

  • AC Lounge & AC Kitchen: A communal space of creativity and collaboration by day and a social hub by night. During the day, hotel guests and locals can meet and mingle in the indoor and outdoor space, while at night guests can enjoy local wine and craft beers, signature cocktails or specialty wines sourced from around the world. The bar within the AC Lounge provides an opportunity for guests to relax with a selection of tapas-style small bites. The AC Kitchen offers a European-inspired continental breakfast, including the Berkel slicer, an AC Hotels staple, which will offer guests hand-cut meats including artisanal La Quercia Prosciutto.
  • AC Library: The library provides guests with a quiet, curated environment for perusing literature or conducting business, as well as access to business-center amenities.
  • AC Store: The AC Store will be open 24 hours and will offer European and local snacks and sweets, a selection of beverages and wine by the bottle, alongside gifts and mementos.
