Stephen Busto restores third oldest hotel in Miami Beach; eyes 2017 opening

The Julia, an adults-exclusive boutique hotel, is scheduled to open in Miami Beach in the spring of 2017. Situated in the South of Fifth “SoFI” neighborhood, the property was built from the foundation of the third oldest hotel in Miami Beach.

The property will have 29 guestrooms, each with custom-designed furnishings, coral and grey accents, solid wood flooring, as well as artwork from local artists throughout the rooms and public space.

The interior of the hotel, designed by Stephen Busto, will have a few features from its original design that will include the authentic Cuban tile flooring. The Julia’s exterior has been restored to retain its history with a traditional look that traces back to its original build in the 1930s.

Named after the founder of Miami, Julia Tuttle, and owned by SMS Lodging, The Julia is located between 3rd and 4th Streets on Collins Avenue, one block from the beach.
