Four restaurants in the works for new Hyatt Andaz Mayakoba

The Hyatt Andaz Mayakoba Hotel, a full-service resort located on the Gulf Coast of the Yucatan Peninsula in Riviera Mara, Mexico, will feature four restaurants when it opens at the end of the year.

Cass Calder Smith Architecture is designing the four unique restaurants. Each restaurant’s design and cuisine thoughtfully suit the climate, flora and fauna, and natural landscape to create a cohesive experience that is specific to this region of Mexico. The restaurants are expected to be completed and open in the fourth quarter of 2016.

Cocina Milagro is a family-friendly, all-day dining center that is adjacent to the pool and spa area. The restaurant is primarily composed of glass doors and windows, which can be opened to create a flow between indoor and outdoor spaces. The eaves of the restaurant, in addition to the food and drinks, provide a comfortable place to recharge in the shade and enjoy the views.

For an intimate dining experience, Casa Amate offers an extraordinary experience in a world traveler’s home-cum-restaurant overlooking a lagoon. Accessible by both cart and pedestrian bridge, the rural house has different domestic rooms with artifacts that a Latin American explorer, astronomer, or ecologist might own. The “Library,” “Living Room,” and “Dining Room,” each replete with books, maps and art, offer distinct settings.

Both nestled near the sea and pool terrace, Taqueria and Olla Ceviche offer all-day dining and live entertainment in the evening. All fresh to order, guests can choose from tacos and beer or ceviche and featured tequila cocktails. The indoor/outdoor restaurants offer guests casual but sophisticated decor adorned with wood boards, marine rope, colorful details and spectacular views.

The Hyatt Andaz Mayakoba is one of three Hyatt hotels opening in Mexico. A Hyatt House extended-stay property will open later this year in the Santa Fe district of Mexico City and a Hyatt Regency is planned in Guadalajara. The three new hotels will add 600 guestrooms to the company’s inventory in Mexico, which currently numbers 3,128 guestrooms and nine properties.
