Benchmark names André D’Amour GM of West Virginia's Stonewall Resort

Benchmark, a global hospitality company, named André D’Amour GM for Stonewall Resort, a Benchmark Resorts & Hotels property located in Roanoke, W.Va. Todd Felsen, SVP of operations, made the announcement.

 

“I am very happy to welcome André to Stonewall Resort,” Felsen said in a statement. “A seasoned hospitality leader and long-time Benchmark team member, André has important insights into our company’s ‘Be The Difference’ service culture, which is so important for the guest experience. He brings this and key leadership experience to Stonewall Resort.”

A veteran hotel executive with 25 years of senior leadership experience, André D’Amour previously served as director of operations for Cheyenne Mountain Resort, an IACC-certified property located in Colorado Springs, Colo. His tenure at the resort was capped with the property being named Benchmark’s Hotel of the Year for 2016.

D’Amour invested much of his hospitality career at Cheyenne Mountain Resort, growing his career at the resort by assuming positions of increasing responsibility. During his time with the property, in addition to serving as director of operations, D’Amour held managerial and supervisory positions, including director of conference services, operations manager and conference planning manager. He began with the resort in the conference services department. 

He attended Pikes Peak Community College. He and his wife, Sharrie, have relocated to the Roanoke, W.Va., area.

The Stonewall Resort is a 201-guestroom property with a lakeside lodge and lakeside cottages, a conference center, restaurants, fitness center, swimming pool, spa and an 18-hole Arnold Palmer Signature Golf Course. The resort is located at Stonewall Resort State Park near Weston, W.Va. Stonewall Resort is a joint private/public development between MHLP and the West Virginia Department of Natural Resources. The resort is operated by Benchmark Resorts & Hotels.
