Mark Huntley joins Fairmont Washington D.C., Georgetown as GM

Fairmont Washington, D.C., Georgetown appointed Mark Huntley as GM and regional VP of the property. Huntley’s regional responsibilities for overall operations, performance and strategic direction will also include that of Fairmont Austin (Texas), Fairmont Pittsburgh, Pullman Miami and Sofitel Washington, DC Lafayette Square.

Prior to his new position, Huntley was the regional VP, Central U.S.A. & GM for Swissôtel Chicago. Previously, he was regional VP and GM for Fairmont Chicago, Millennium Park from 2012 until 2015.

After graduating from the catering and hotel management program at England’s Chichester College and the Savoy Hotel management training program, Huntley began his tenure with Fairmont Hotels & Resorts in 1986 holding senior food-and-beverage positions at Fairmont New Orleans and Fairmont Dallas. He later held the positions of resident manager at The Plaza, a Trump owned and managed hotel, and The Peninsula New York. He then returned to Fairmont as regional VP & GM for The Fairmont San Francisco and regional VP & GM of The Savoy in London. He briefly served as EVP of the MGM Grand Hotel & Casino, Las Vegas before returning to Fairmont in 2007.

The newly renovated, 413-room Fairmont Washington, D.C., Georgetown is located at 2401 M Street, NW. The hotel is adjacent to historic Georgetown, and is convenient to area museums and national monuments. The property is located 5 miles from Reagan National Airport and 33 miles from Dulles International Airport.
