Las Vegas— InterContinental Hotels Group (IHG) kicked off its Americas Investors & Leadership Conference with some big news this week, as it announced a 10-year agreement with Las Vegas Sands Corp. to add the Venetian and Palazzo properties in Las Vegas to IHG's InterContinental brand portfolio. Jim Abrahamson, IHG's president of the Americas, made the announcement to a standing ovation at the Palazzo ballrom, where hundreds of owners, general managers and other IHG brand employees gathered to kick off the conference.

Standing beside Abrahamson, Michael Leven, president and COO of Las Vegas Sands Corp., lauded the agreement as a "definite win" for his organization, noting that the ability to reach IHG's 180 million annual guests, and specifically its database of 52 million IHG Priority Club members, is an extraordinary opportunity for the company's two Las Vegas properties to attract millions of new customers.
Guests at The Venetian and The Palazzo will be able to earn points and redeem them for stays at any of IHG's 4,500 hotels worldwide, just as IHG's Priority Club Rewards and Ambassador members will be able to use their own points for stays at both resorts.
