Far-reaching light: HullOled by TSG Essempio for Philips Lumiblade

20 Jun, 2013 By: Mick Tan

Introducing the HullOled by TSG Essempio for Philips Lumiblade, earlier described as an innovative luminaire with an aerodynamic, nautically-inspired shape. OLED (Organic Light-Emitting Diodes) minimizes the infrastructure necessary to produce light, allowing thin designs in lamps to produce even, diffused and far-reaching light. HullOled uses this formal flexibility to create a luminaire that looks like the hull of a ship. Constituted of 10 distinct Philips Lumiblade OLED panels, HullOled incorporates “10 organic arms” in a horizontal orientation.

Dutch design firm TSG Essempio has authored many innovative industrial and lighting designs, including HullOled for Philips Lumiblade and the series of Super Flat TV Wall Supports for Vogels.
