Marriott pulls its flag from The Cornhusker Hotel
7 Feb, 2012
Nebraska's Journal Star reports that The Cornhusker Hotel will now go at it alone after Marriott International pulled its flag due to the hotel defaulting on its franchise agreement. The hotel's previous owner, Atul Bisaria, "defaulted on the franchise by failing to live up to an agreement made in May settling at least six earlier defaults, according to a letter sent December 7 to Bisaria by John H. Moore Jr., senior vice president of full-service franchising operations for Marriott." With its departure from Marriott, The Cornhusker loses out on Marriott's robust global reservations system, particularly tough during this economy.
