Parts and Labor Design creates Argentine courtyard-inspired Boleo bar

Boleo, a space created by New York City-based firm Parts and Labor Design, opened in on the rooftop of the Kimpton Gray Hotel in Chicago. Fifteen stories up, the space has a “sky-bar” vibe, with 360-degree windows and a retractable roof.

The 4,034-square-foot bar and restaurant seats 157 guests and has various scaled areas. Inspired by the building’s historic, classical revival architecture, Parts and Labor Design developed a concept that is said to celebrates the old, with midcentury accents, and honors the new, with a laid-back, tropical setting where diners can listen to live music, dance and sample Latin American fare.
