The Graduate Seattle officially opened adjacent to the University of Washington in Seattle’s University District.
The 16-story hotel formerly was the Hotel Deca, and underwent a full renovation of its guestrooms, common areas, meeting and event spaces, fitness center and lobby to become the Graduate Seattle. The hotel is the 12th to join the Graduate Hotels portfolio.
The renovation preserved the hotel’s art-deco roots from the 1930s while updating its interior aesthetic. Local artwork was incorporated to reflect the history of Seattle, such as imagery of astronaut Michael P. Anderson and rapper Sir Mix-a-Lot.
Graduate Hotels is a brand designed around university-anchored cities throughout the U.S. The brand currently consists of 12 open and operating hotels, with more than 10 additional properties under development slated to open by 2020.
