Mövenpick Hotels & Resorts to open first hotel in Indonesia

2 Feb, 2012

Mövenpick Hotels & Resorts is slated to open its first hotel in Indonesia overlooking the bay of Jimbaran in the south of Bali.

Inspired by traditional Balinese design, the Mövenpick Resort & Spa Jimbaran is scheduled to open in 2014 and will offer 270 rooms including 70 suites. In addition, the resort will feature 70 branded residences.

As well as an all-day dining restaurant, a roof top lounge and lobby café, the resort will include a 5,381 square foot ballroom, business center, kids club, meeting rooms, gym, library and a spa facility. A boutique retail area will feature a range of shops.

The Jimbaran resort is one of nine new hotels set to be opened by Mövenpick Hotels & Resorts across Asia by 2014. The region has been a major focus for expansion by the Swiss hospitality company. Already, Mövenpick Hotels & Resorts operates two hotels in Thailand, two in Vietnam and one each in India, Philippines and Singapore.
