New Holiday Inn opens in Colony, Texas

Dallas-based architectural firm Mayse & Associates opened the 122-key, four-story Holiday Inn by IHG (InterContinental Hotels Group) in the Dallas suburb of The Colony, Texas.

The 72,978-square-foot, select-service hotel offers amenities such as a double-height lobby ceiling, enlarged meeting space, bar area, outdoor pool, exercise room and outdoor terrace.

"It was imperative that this hotel open on time so that our client could start generating revenue," said Ron Smith, Mayse’s project architect and team leader. "The entire project team worked hard to make that happen."

Dallas-based Aguirre Roden Building Systems constructed the project. The hotel was developed and is owned by Dallas-based Western International and managed by Texas Western Hospitality.

The hotel is less than 20 miles from DFW Airport. Nearby companies include Toyota, FedEx and Liberty Mutual, while attractions include Hawaiian Falls Waterpark, TopGolf and Lake Lewisville.
