Philadelphia Courtyard prepares to open

The Courtyard by Marriott Philadelphia City Avenue is scheduled to open its doors in Philadelphia on Aug. 30.

Located at 4100 Presidential Blvd., and City Ave., the 333-room hotel will operate as a Marriott franchise, owned by the FB Real Estate Fund/Real Estate Capital Management and managed by Pinnacle Hotel Management of Royal Palm Beach, Fla. The hotel is accessible to the Philadelphia Zoo, Fairmount Park, the Mann Music Center, the Please Touch Museum and four area colleges.

Property highlights include a new lobby space and the brand’s latest contemporary room design. Room design offers hybrid zones for working, sleeping and relaxing. Indirect lighting and a neutral, tone-on-tone color palette help complete the new look.

“From day one, Courtyard has prided itself as a brand that listens to business travelers,” said Callette Nielsen, VP and global brand manager, Courtyard. “Today’s technology has changed how people travel. Our guests want a room that has purpose and flexibility that enables a seamless transition between relaxing and working. Courtyard is designed to offer them a relaxing and functional space to work the way they want to, when they want to.”

Upon arrival, there is a “Luggage Drop” for bags and a “Tech Drop” ledge for charging personal devices. Signature furniture and architectural elements replace traditional art in the new guestroom. The “LoungeAround” sofa offers a pop of color. The new design also has a light desk on wheels, allowing guests to work from anywhere in the room. An upgraded layout in the bathroom includes a “Shower Nook” for housing shampoos and towels.

The eight-story hotel includes an indoor swimming pool, fitness center, complimentary on-site parking, room service and guest laundry. In addition, there is the Fairmount Ballroom providing 6,375 square feet of flexible space to accommodate functions of up to 300 people, as well as on-site catering.
