The Marriott Marquis San Diego Marina signed on Tim Herrmann as GM of the property.

Herrmann brings with him over three decades of experience in the hospitality industry, beginning his Marriott career 33 years ago in food & beverage operations at the Rancho Las Palmas Resort in Rancho Mirage, Calif. During his career, Herrmann worked at eight Marriott properties including The Maui Marriott, Marriott’s Harbor Beach, Boston Copley, The Philadelphia Marriott, Hollywood Renaissance, Coronado Island Marriott Resort and the Santa Clara Marriott.

“I’m thrilled to be joining Marriott Marquis San Diego Marina during this pivotal time,” Herrmann said in a statement. “The hotel has so much to offer with the recently launched event space, new fitness activations, soon-to-debut art program and award-winning F&B offerings.”

For the past three years, Herrmann served as the GM at the Santa Clara Marriott, where he and his team were recognized by Host Hotels as Hotel of the Year in 2013 and were again nominated in 2014 and 2015 as well as recognized for increasing the hotel’s revenue by 22 percent.

Prior to his success at Santa Clara, Herrmann served as GM of the Coronado Island Marriott Resort, where he also received numerous accolades including 2012 Western Region GM of the Year.

Additionally, Herrmann has held senior leadership positions in restaurant, catering and event operations, which included overseeing sales efforts for the 1,410-room Philadelphia Marriott Hotel and serving as area director of sales & marketing for Renaissance. In addition, Herrmann spent two years as the VP of sales & marketing for the Philadelphia Convention & Visitors Bureau.

When not working, Tim enjoys running and spending time with his wife and son, a recent graduate of San Francisco State University.
