McKibbon Hospitality picks up management of the Aloft Jacksonville Airport

McKibbon Hospitality added the Aloft Jacksonville (Fla.) Airport hotel to its management portfolio. Owned by Gehr Hospitality, the hotel is located three miles from the Jacksonville International Airport and 15 miles north of downtown Jacksonville.

The new management contract expands McKibbon Hospitality’s presence in Jacksonville, where the company currently manages the Homewood Suites Jacksonville-South/St. Johns Center. The deal also adds a new Aloft Hotel to McKibbon’s portfolio, in addition to the Aloft Greenville (S.C.) Downtown, Aloft Asheville (N.C.) Downtown, Aloft Tallahassee (Fla.) Downtown and Aloft Orlando Downtown.

“We are pleased to expand our Jacksonville presence and add a new Aloft Hotel to our portfolio through the management of the Aloft Jacksonville Airport hotel,” Randy Hassen, president of McKibbon Hospitality’s hotel management division, said in a statement. “McKibbon Hospitality has a proven track record of managing Aloft Hotels, and we look forward to implementing our unique, industry-leading approach at this property.”

The Aloft Jacksonville Airport is a modern, select-service hotel that includes 136 guestrooms, the Aloft brand’s signature W XYZ bar, an outdoor pool, 600 square feet of meeting space and a 24-hour fitness center. Guests can also attend weekly performances by local musicians as part of the hotel’s Live@Aloft music series. In addition to its proximity to the Jacksonville International Airport, the hotel is near the River City Marketplace, a shopping and entertainment complex.

“Selecting McKibbon Hospitality as the manager of our Aloft Jacksonville Airport hotel was an easy choice,” Thuong Luong, Gehr Hospitality’s chief investment officer, said in a statement. “They have a long history of success in the select-service segment and have experienced remarkable success with the Aloft Hotel brand.”
