Legal Tip: Guestroom doors play a critical security role

19 Oct, 2011 By: Karen Morris

Doors are the final defense to protect guests from an in-room attack. Doors should be strong enough to resist an intruder’s efforts to push his way in. Likewise, locks should be tough enough to withstand tampering and prevent unauthorized entry. Devices distributed to guests to unlock guestroom doors should be difficult to replicate, and the entry code should be changed with each new guest. As with all safety matters, regular inspections are a must.
