The former Radisson Hotel Rapid City/Mt. Rushmore, in Rapid City, S.D., is now called the Adoba Eco Hotel. According to the Rapid City Journal, hotel owner Shiba Investments and managing partner Karim Merali "are no longer affiliated with Radisson." The 117-room hotel, which had carried the Radisson name for 15 years, is now the first property under the Adoba Eco Hotel brand, which the article says is licensed by Atmosphere Hospitality Management of Colorado.
Shiba has owned the property since 1995, and now it will undergo a renovation to earn LEED certification.
According to the article, the property's restaurant already debuted a new menu with organic and locally sourced ingredients. Guestroom renovations are scheduled to be completed by May.
The rooms were designed by Antonio Ballatore, winner of the fourth season of HGTV's Design Star competition.
Atmosphere Hospitality is owned by Adrienne Pumphrey and Jim Henderson, and according to the article, the company "has plans to build new Adoba Eco Hotels around the country."
