Adelphi Hospitality Group to reopen historic Saratoga Springs hotel

Adelphi Hospitality Group revealed that The Adelphi Hotel in Saratoga Springs, N.Y., will reopen on July 1. The Adelphi Hotel has been a mainstay in Saratoga Springs since 1877, and the property is currently undergoing a multimillion-dollar renovation that will reimagine the historic building into a modern, luxury boutique hotel.

The historic renovation of the last surviving hotel of Saratoga’s "golden age" will incorporate elements of the original Adelphi. Highlights include the restoration of the 11-foot ceilings and grand staircase upon entry, as well as the creation of memorable shared spaces including the revival of The Adelphi’s hotel bar, which will be named Morrisey’s after Saratoga resident John Morrissey, and a 1,200-square-foot glass-walled conservatory, which will house The Adelphi’s new restaurant, The Blue Hen. The Blue Hen takes its name from the historical establishment known as The Blue Toed Hen that once stood nearby. The eatery takes the modern Victorian sensibilities of The Adelphi Hotel and gives them an epicurean twist, offering guests an artisan-market style experience in an approachable setting with creatively delicious dining options throughout the day.

The new grand ballroom can accommodate up to 250 guests and opens up to the landscaped Adelphi Gardens. The AHG team is bringing back to life this cherished local gathering spot for Saratogians and visitors to meet and gather for a drink surrounded by an abundance of foliage and plantings from early spring through late fall.

The 32 guestrooms have all been reconfigured. The original hotel had approximately 74 rooms when it was built in the late 1800s, and the previous owners modified the hotel to just over 40 rooms. Now, at the renovated Adelphi Hotel, guests will be able to retreat to one of 32 oversized guestrooms and suites.

“We are thrilled to be able to welcome guests to experience the first-class services of our grand Adelphi Hotel starting this summer,” Simon Milde, managing partner of Adelphi Hospitality Group, said in a statement. “Saratoga Springs is a special town year-round, but there is something magical about this place during the summer. It is with great pride that visitors will be able to experience the reinvented Adelphi Hotel starting July 1st.”
