The first phase of the renovation of the Westin Palace Madrid, one of the oldest hotels in Spain, was completed. London-based Areen Hospitality, a division of international consultancy Areen Design Services, led the efforts to enhance the 467 guestrooms and suites of the property, embracing a new design that is said to celebrate the hotel’s history while incorporating a contemporary ambiance.
According to Andrew Linwood, head of design for Areen Hospitality, hotels like the Westin Palace Madrid are now looking at renovation opportunities to maintain brand values and provide guests with expected standards.
This renovation project follows Areen Hospitality’s refurbishment of Sheraton hotels in Zagreb, Bucharest and Stockholm.
