Orpheus to reopen as ‘tropical jewel’ on Australia's doorstep
31 Jan, 2012After undergoing a recent upgrade, Orpheus, set in the Great Barrier Reef, is reopening its doors on March 3.
Located 80 kilometers north of Townsville, the island stretches across 11 kilometers of coastline, and comprises of a National Park and surrounding World Heritage listed Marine Park.
Nestled in the Hazard Bay on the western side of the island, the resort features rooms, suites and villas, a main pavilion bar and restaurant, and a 26 meter x 13 meter infinity pool that overlooks the Coral Sea.
The venue can only accommodate 34 guests at any one time.
In a statement, the company stated that the newly refurbished beachfront accommodation combines “tropical sanctuary with a 'contemporary minimalist” aesthetic. All accommodation types offer natural color schemes, Bose iPod docks, Daintree Essentials products, and private terraces that boast Hazard Bay views.
The venue has two dining areas, one alfresco-style and the other a restaurant. It also has the signature experience, Dining with the Tides, which allows guests to enjoy a dinner for two on the pier under a canopy.
