waldrop+nichols studio pays respect to Philip Johnson for Hotel Crescent Court renovation

Dallas’ Hotel Crescent Court is undergoing a $30-million renovation that is scheduled to be finished later this spring. Local firm waldrop+nichols studio is spearheading the revamp, which pays respect to the original designs from Pritzker Prize-winning Philip Johnson.

All 195 guestrooms and 31 suites will be restored with a palette of limestone, blush, taupe and mink. Four suites will also be added to the hotel.

Refurbishments will be made to the lobby and its lounge concept, Beau’s, which will receive additional bar seating.

Corridors will reference French-inspired patterns, including in the textural techniques used for the wall panels, seeded glass sconce diffusers, rift-cut silver walnut millwork, and an understated color palette.

Thirteen dining concepts are housed onsite, including a Nobu outpost and the glass-enclosed Conservatory, which overlooks the courtyard gardens. The 22,000-square-foot spa and fitness center will also be remodeled.

The hotel has an outdoor swimming pool and 17 event spaces covering 23,320 square feet.
