ICE Touch premieres at Hoteles Charleston Colombia

Hoteles Charleston Colombia installed iPads using Intelity's ICE Touch software in all 211 guestrooms, allowing guests to access up to 30 hotel services, according to Hospitality Technology.

Intelity's virtual concierge software has become an increasingly popular method for hotel staff to increase efficiency and cater to an evolving set of guest expectations. The New York Times reported earlier this year that the Wyngate and Aloft hotel brands have been experimenting with Intelity's ICE Touch software. The Delano hotel in Miami and Hudson in New York City have installed Intelity's software, as well

Luxury hotels have often been early adopters of the technology. "One of the reasons we chose the technology is because the property is a masterpiece of design. It’s cutting edge, a culture vanguard,” said Paul Pebley, director of sales and marketing at the Hotel Beaux Arts Miami, to HotelNewsNow. “We jumped on implementing it because we felt it was consistent with the sensory experience… we saw it first from a brand-positioning standpoint, then we understood where the financial benefits were.”

Hotel Management sat down with The Plaza Hotel GM Shane Krige in February to discuss the positive effect of Intelity's technology on the hotel's service.

“It helps keep things efficient,” said Krige, whose app designed by Intelity offers unique room climate controls and integrated directions to New York City destinations, to Hotel Management. “This is not to replace any human elements, however. The iPad is the most sophisticated, user-friendly input device there is.”
