Westin and New Balance team up to lend shoes to guests
15 Dec, 2010
Westin Hotels & Resorts is partnering with athletic apparel brand New Balance to help travelers stay fit on the road. The new program makes it possible for guests to borrow running shoes and workout apparel during their stay at a Westin hotel. The companies will also provide in-room fitness content that travelers can use without exercise machinery, such as stretching and strengthening workouts.
“Keeping guests’ fitness goals in mind, we’ve partnered with New Balance to provide yet another option to help travelers stay well on-the-road,” said Nancy London, VP of Westin Hotels & Resorts. “Guests simply need to show up ready for a great workout. We provide the rest.”
Ten Westin hotels are participating in the program from the start, with a full-brand rollout planned for 2011.
Guests at these hotels will be able to borrow New Balance running shoes with brand new, disposable insoles for each use. The apparel offered includes shorts, shirts, socks, capri pants and sports bras. If a guest is traveling to a city to participate in a major athletic event such as a marathon, they will receive free wellness amenities.
The travel-specific fitness content will come from celebrity trainer Holly Perkins, a New Balance fitness ambassador.
