French-owned hotel operator Accor has announced plans to open three more hotels in Scotland, two in Edinburgh and one in Glasgow. As thew BBC reports, the new openings will bring the group's portfolio in Scotland to 21.
Accor said it's commited to growing its business in Scotland. In Glasgow, Accor has signed a franchise agreement with MCTH Trading to open an Ibis Styles in the current Telfer House, which is undergoing a renovation.
In Edinburgh, Accor has signed a deal to open a new Mercure hotel in Gardner's Crescent. The 110-room, midscale hotel will be opened with franchise partner Edinburgh City Hotels early next year.
The company also has plans to open an Adagio aparthotel as part of the city's New Waverley development.
Thomas Dubaere, managing director of Accor UK & Ireland, said: "These new hotels will help us to expand the Accor brands in Scotland, where our business is already enjoying great success.
