Carl Hansen & Son unveiled the Preludia series by New York-based designer Brad Ascalon. The collection marks the 110-year-old Danish design brand’s first collaboration with an American designer, and is also their first for the contract market.
Ascalon’s fascination with mid-century design and his interest in exploring the potential of wood created common ground in the collaboration with Carl Hansen & Son. The Preludia series, which is comprised of a unified range of tables and chairs, is designed with versatility in mind. His approach to selecting materials and techniques is based on a view of how the objects will serve people in a variety of environments (from restaurants and airports to offices and meeting spaces) and adapt to their lives.
The collection will be available starting this October.
