Hotel asset management and owner advisory services company CHMWarnick has promoted its EVP and managing director, Chad Sorensen, to chief operating officer. Responsible for the company’s asset-management operations, Sorensen will focus on improving business practices and leveraging new technology for the company’s clients.

In the past 12 months, CHMWarnick has appointed three individuals to its senior team, including, most recently, Diane Fox as SVP of asset management. “We’re looking to strengthen and put a little bit more depth at the C-level to lead the company and to really to take it to the next level,” Sorensen told Hotel Management.

Kristie Dickinson, EVP of business development, identified this continued leadership expansion as central to the company’s strategy. “There’s a model where you can have a lot of new people and then one or two very senior people,” she said. “Our model, we turn it upside down. Over a third of our group has over 30 years’ experience.”

Sorensen is a 25-year hospitality industry veteran. Outside of CHMWarnick, he has worked as a partner at Warnick + Company and a manager with Ernst & Young. He currently serves as membership chair of the International Society of Hospitality Consultants and sits on the Hotel Asset Management Association's marketing and finance committees and the Michigan State Real Estate Investment Management Advisory Committee.

“Our company has more than doubled in size over the last few years, and adding Chad as our COO is one more way we will continue to bring the most comprehensive and impactful asset-management services to our clients,” Chad Crandell, CHMWarnick's CEO and managing director, said in a statement.
