Lansdowne Resort and Spa, located 30 miles outside of Washington, D.C., in Leesburg, Va., has returned to Benchmark Resorts & Hotels’ portfolio. The resort features 296 recently renovated guestrooms, a 12,000-square-foot spa, four food-and-beverage venues, 55,000 square feet of meeting and event space, 45 holes of golf, water sports and tennis.

Benchmark originally opened the property in 1991. Now, with its return to the company’s portfolio, it joins two sister Virginia properties: Hotel Roanoke & Conference Center in the Blue Ridge Mountains and The Inn at Virginia Tech in Blacksburg.

“We are delighted to expand our presence in Virginia with the return of this celebrated resort,” Benchmark’s CEO Alex Cabañas said in a statement. “Its impressive facilities, recreational options and location in one of America’s most scenic and historically rich areas will offer the kind of experiential and unique travel, meeting and event opportunities that Benchmark is known to provide in each of our locations.”
