WP Hospitality Group to manage Purpose Hotel

WP Hospitality Group will manage The Purpose Hotel in Nashville, with Hastings Architecture onboard to lead the primary design. Expect to open in 2022, the property is the creation of Jeremy Cowart and is intended to fight social issues through domestic and international partnerships.

Described as a “humanitarian relief project,” The Purpose Hotel was introduced publicly in 2016. It “aims to fight against injustices of war, hunger, poverty, global warming, racial tension, unclean water, addictions and natural disasters” through partnerships and strategic sourcing and procurement.

“I have built my brands and management companies around creating cultures of service excellence, which stems from the internal guests (staff) being driven toward a common purpose that they believe in, not just showing up to work every day to do a task or a job but to work towards a vision that they are proud to uphold,” Horst Schulze, WP Hospitality Group’s CEO and the former president and COO of the Ritz Carlton Hotel Company, said in a statement. “It is incredibly fitting that I am now partnering with The Purpose Hotel, which literally does just that.”

WP Hospitality Group is an international hotel and resort management company. It manages properties for the Capella Hotel Group, including its Capella Hotels & Resorts and Solis Hotels brands, as well as some independent hotels.
