Viceroy Hotel Group takes over Los Cabos' Hotel Mar Adentro

Viceroy Hotel Group is partnering with investment firm Rodina Group to manage and rebrand the Hotel Mar Adentro in Los Cabos, Mexico. The companies will re-launch the hotel as the Viceroy Los Cabos and as part of the Viceroy Icon Collection in spring 2018.

The hotel, designed by Mexican architect Miguel Angel Aragonés, will be Viceroy's 14th property. Guadalajara-based architect Al Arquitectura de Interiores will renovate and update the hotel. Once the refurbishments are complete, the property will have 194 guestrooms, suites and villas and 50 residences.

The beachfront resort in San José del Cabo on the outer edge of Baja California Sur is near the downtown area, the San José art walk, La Paz and Cabo Pulmo Park. It will be the second resort in Viceroy's Mexican portfolio. The Tides Riviera Maya in Playa del Carmen re-launched as the Viceroy Riviera Maya in January 2012 following an extensive renovation. The company's first Mexican property now has 41 villas, 29 of which were renovated while another 11 were added.

This latest addition to the Viceroy portfolio will be part of the Viceroy Icon Collection along with its hotels and resorts in Chicago, Dubai, Abu Dhabi, Beverly Hills, Riviera Maya, Snowmass and St. Lucia. Other hotels in the pipeline for the collection will be in Algarve, Buenos Aires, Panama, and Vietnam.

The Viceroy Lifestyle Series hotels and resorts are in New York and Santa Monica. Another upcoming hotel for this collection will be in Serbia. Meanwhile, Viceroy's Urban Retreat Collection has properties in San Francisco, which are included in Viceroy Hotel Group's portfolio of 550 hotels worldwide.
