Architectural lighting: Planes collection by Sonneman—A Way of Light

A new lighting design from designer Robert Sonneman pays homage to Frank Lloyd Wright. The Planes collection from Sonneman—A Way of Light is said to capture the cascading silhouette of the American architect’s Pennsylvania masterpiece, the “Fallingwater”. The collection includes both pendant and sconce variations.

The pendants are reminiscent of the cantilevered roofs of Wright’s “Fallingwater.” The “Cantilevered Planes” have LED flat panels, while the “Intersecting Planes” have an LED flat panel silhouette that intersects with the flat face of a vertical plane. Meanwhile, the Planes sconce has aluminum base that showcases a rectangular frame and a white shade with edge-lit light panels. The streamlined design provides bright, glare-free LED illumination in a hallway or bathroom vanity. Lastly, available in single and double versions, “Double Planes” can be mounted in vertical or horizontal orientations.
