Earth-friendly flooring: Green alternatives from Smart Carpet and Flooring

Smart Carpet and Flooring has launched two more earth-friendly flooring options: Armstrong Luxe Plank luxury vinyl flooring and Shaw Because We Can carpet.

With a rigid core and 19 wood- and stone-effects to choose from, Armstrong Luxe Plank flooring is a waterproof, scratch-resistant alternative to real wood and tile flooring. No trees were harmed in the making of this flooring, yet it looks virtually indistinguishable from hardwoods and exotics. The eco-friendly cork backing keeps Luxe Plank quiet and softer underfoot than typical hardwood flooring. Options include Tioga Timber or the Concrete Structures Gotham Gray.

Meanwhile, Shaw Because We Can carpet contains 50 percent post-consumer recycled materials and was made in the U.S. from plastic soft drink and water bottles originally headed to the landfill. It has lifetime soil- and stain-resistance warranties as well as 15-year texture retention, abrasive wear and quality assurance warranties. There are 18 colors available in the line.
