Atkins designs Al Habtoor polo club in Dubai

Atkins was appointed by Al Habtoor Group to provide full multidisciplinary design services for an exclusive new polo resort and club in Dubai. When completed, the Al Habtoor Polo Resort & Club will have four polo fields, a 136 key five-star hotel, 162 residential villas, a polo academy and a riding school with 500 stables.

The design for the inland development, which will be located next to Emirates Road and the Dubai-Al Ain Road, is said to be inspired by Andalusian architecture. The principal design architect is Kourosh Salehi.

According to Salehi, the design brief called for a polo and equestrian-focused destination that could provide leisure facilities, as well as world class tournament standards. The architectural style draws references from Andalusian farmhouses to capture the authenticity of their material, as well as a Moorish influence
