Atkins designs Hilton Chengdu Hotel

Hilton Worldwide and Hilton Hotels & Resorts opened Hilton Chengdu, the first of the company's 11 hotels in the pipeline in the city of Chengdu, China.

Marking the entry of the Hilton brand in the city, Hilton Chengdu is the 30th Hilton-branded hotel to operate in China, and adds to Hilton Worldwide's portfolio of more than 60 hotels operating in the Greater China region. Hilton Chengdu is owned by George Seaton Real Estate and managed by Hilton Worldwide.

Atkins was responsible for Hilton Chengdu's architecture. The hotel building is capped with crystal-like structures and at night, there is a light show put together by the same company responsible for the light displays at the Eiffel Tower in Paris, France. The interior of the hotel was inspired by the galaxy and has different lighting installations set against a lobby with a three-story high ceiling.

Hilton Chengdu's 395 rooms and suites have Sichuan design elements. Rooms have floor-to-ceiling windows that frame views of the city. Amenities include wired and wireless Internet connections, IPTV, in-room safes, work spaces, as well as 42-inch LCD TVs.

The hotel's meeting spaces has a drive-in ballroom. Hilton Chengdu also has Bridal Suites with floor-length mirrors and marble bathrooms. Hilton Chengdu also has 14 meeting rooms.

For dining, Hilton Chengdu’s restaurants and lounges include: YUXI Chinese Restaurant, named after the ancient Privy Seal, and has 12 private dining rooms; The Standard restaurant, which has an open kitchen and a display case, as well as an outdoor terrace; all-day dining restaurant MIX that has an open kitchen concept; and Onyx Lobby Lounge that has a sushi counter.

Recreational facilities at Hilton Chengdu include a spa, 24-hour fitness center and a rooftop swimming pool located on the 37th floor.

Hilton Chengdu is located in the new CBD area of Chengdu, opposite the Tianfu Software Park and close to the Century City Convention Center. The hotel is about 15 kilometers from Shuangliu International Airport and the Chengdu Metro Line 1 station is 270 meters from the hotel. The line connects Hilton Chengdu to business areas as well as entertainment and shopping districts.

Apart from Hilton Chengdu, Hilton Worldwide has 10 hotels in the pipeline under five brands, slated to open in Chengdu - Waldorf Astoria Chengdu, Conrad Chengdu, Hilton Chengdu Chenghua, Hilton Chengdu Leading Center, DoubleTree by Hilton Chengdu Longquan, Hilton Garden Inn Chengdu Hi-tech Zone, Hilton Garden Inn Chengdu Huayang, Hilton Garden Inn Chengdu Jinniu, Hilton Garden Inn Chengdu Jingtang and Hilton Garden Inn Chengdu Qiangbaijiang.
