Breaking down boundaries: Float kitchen by Miras Editions

Barcelona-based brand Miras Editions launched its first kitchen design. Called Float, the modular design is the work of Alberto Sánchez of Valencia-based design studio MUT Design. Float is a line of hybrid kitchen furniture designed to break down the traditional boundaries between the kitchen and the living room.

The Float collection is made up of five pieces: a kitchen island, a cupboard, a glass cabinet, a serving cart and a room divider. Reflecting a minimal Scandinavian design aesthetic, bold geometric elements made in copper, marble and natural wood intersect to create each piece.

The main kitchen island module includes a sink, hob, preparation area and removable drawers and trays that are accessible from both sides, while the cupboard is designed to house appliances. Meanwhile, Sánchez designed the glass cabinet and serving cart as pieces that can be used in various spaces, providing a seamless link.

Made in Spain, each piece is designed to be folded into a flat pack and be assembled in site.
