Broadway Malyan creates master plan for Indonesia's Cilandak Bisnis Square

International architecture, urbanism and design practice Broadway Malyan has created the concept master plan of the Cilandak Bisnis Square project in Jakarta, Indonesia.

The project has been commissioned by Bhumyamka Sekawan and marks the debut of Broadway Malyan in Indonesia. The firm will also provide the project's schematic masterplan, concept architecture, and branding. The Square, located on a 29-acre area, will comprise a series of buildings, along with a business hotel offering conference, leisure and retail facilities.

A central square will form the key element of the facility's design. The square will draw references from the Javenese planning concept of alun alun, which refers to the conventional town square and center of civic activity. The square will incorporate a Banyan tree, a symbol of power and success.

Bhumyamka Sekawan is said to be aiming to create a scheme that will become a pioneer in the promotion of sustainable office developments in Indonesia, in response to the government’s new sustainability agenda and planning initiatives.
