Carlson to add 60 hotels in Asia by 2015

Carlson Rezidor Hotel Group is adding more than 60 hotels in Asia Pacific within the next three years, bringing its portfolio in the region to 157 properties under five brands – Radisson Blu, Radisson, Park Plaza, Park Inn and Courtney Inns and Suites.

The group expected to have 90 hotels in operations in the region by the end of this year. China and India are Carlson Rezidor’s largest destinations in Asia Pacific with 34 and 101 hotels currently operating and under development.

The company has just concluded a strategic partner deal with India’s real estate conglomerate Bestech Group to open 49 Park Inn hotels in the country within the next 10 years.

Thailand is Carlson Rezidor’s third largest market in Asia Pacific, albeit with just four hotels in operation and two projects in the pipeline. The 290-room Radisson Blu Plaza Hotel Bangkok Sukhumvit is slated to open next year and the 118-room Radisson Blu Resort Hua Hin is scheduled to open in 2015.
