Centara Ceysands Resort & Spa to open in Sri Lanka

Centara Hotels & Resorts will open Centara Ceysands Resort & Spa, its second resort in Sri Lanka, in the spring of 2014. The resort is owned by Softlogic Properties, but will be operated by Centara under a management contract.

When it opens, Centara Ceysands Resort & Spa will be located on the Bentota Peninsula at the south side of the island, with the Bentota River on one side and the Indian Ocean on the other. This new resort's arrival lounge will be located at Aluthgama, and guests will arrive at the resort after traveling across the water by barge, a trip of approximately five minutes.

Centara Passikudah Resort & Spa was the company’s first property in Sri Lanka. It is located on the east coast of the island, and it opened early in 2013.

Centara Ceysands Resort & Spa will have 165 rooms and suites, including family residences with bunk beds for the children, and all the accommodations include views across the river or across the beach and the ocean.

Restaurant facilities will include Café Bem, serving Sri Lankan and international cuisines along with buffets; 360 Seafood, which specializes in seafood; and Ceylon Club, which will have a gourmet selection of Ceylon teas.

Spa Cenvaree will offer traditional Sri Lankan and Indian treatments, along with a range of Thai therapies. There is a fitness center, an oceanfront swimming pool with Jacuzzi and a children's pool, a water sports center; and a Kids' Club with separate zones for the youngsters and teens.

The resort will also offer dinner cruises along the Bentota River.
