Surrounded by pools and estuaries that provide a sanctuary for Pacific Northwest wildlife, the 212 guestrooms were inspired by the sea. A nod to the seaside location can be found throughout the property, from the blue carpets to the yellow décor. The new grand porte-cochere also has new yellow exterior, as well as the driveway created from locally collected shells.
The lobby and general areas have Net Effect, an eco-friendly carpet that supports fishing villages in the Philippines by repurposing discarded fishing nets collected by locals into carpet tiles. The resort also installed Tesla and a Sun Country Highway charging stations.
Many of the rooms have balconies. Guestrooms have “Simmons Beautyrest Black” mattress with Georgetown Plush Pillow Top bedding, Keurig K-Cup brewing system, 36-inch or 42-inch HDTV, desk/work area and a telephone/alarm clock with a bedside charging dock. Complementary Wi-Fi is available throughout the resort.
In addition to the guestroom and lobby renovations, Semiahmoo Resort also updated Packers Oyster Bar and opened Pierside Kitchen. Located on the pier with floor-to-ceiling views of Semiahmoo Bay, the dining room has whitewashed weathered wood siding and ceilings. Meanwhile, Packers Oyster Bar has walnut floors, a distressed wood bar, leather armchairs and bar stools.
The resort also updated its event space by installing new audiovisual equipment, air walls and updated lighting.
The Stars restaurant was retired, allowing for a new private dining space with a wine tasting room that has brick floors and wall-to-wall wine storage. Down the hall is a theater, which was renovated with new seating.
Washington State's Semiahmoo Resort, Golf, and Spa is located on the shores of Semiahmoo Bay and Drayton Harbor.
