Conran designs new gym and spa of Varsity Hotel & Spa, Cambridge

Boutique hotel Varsity Hotel & Spa in Cambridge has launched its newly developed gymnasium and spa concept.

Unlike other independent hotels that provide only a small gym offering, The Glassworks Spa at The Varsity is a destination wellness center, equipped with health care professionals, sports massage therapists, nutritionists, and even hairdressers and nail technicians.

Housed in an 18th Century glass warehouse, the Conran-designed gym has been designed to recreate a New York style space, with new equipment for work-outs and with personalization and social features. There is also a amenities that incorporates touch screens to transport users to various locations, from Paris to Reims, or to make like Bradley Wiggins with a route through the Provence-Alpes-Cote d’Azur region with its challenging inclines.

This year will also see the re-launch of the spa area, with its signature Jacuzzi area that overlooks the river Cam. There will be heated relaxation benches for guests to wind down in a mosaic tiled space, and sauna and steam area.
