Courtyard Boston Cambridge revitalized

Marriott International completed the transformation of Courtyard Boston Cambridge in Cambridge, Mass. The upgrades to the hotel located at 777 Memorial Drive transformation included renovations to the guest rooms, guest bathrooms, corridors and meeting rooms, plus a new lobby and dining area.

The 207-room Courtyard Boston Cambridge operates as a Marriott franchise and is managed by Highgate Hotels.

This 16-story brick, high-rise building is situated on the banks of the historic Charles River and is surrounded by views of the river and the Boston skyline. Located only minutes from downtown Boston, the hotel is steps from Harvard University and convenient to MIT, Boston University, hospitals, Fenway Park and historic Boston's attractions, restaurants and nightlife.

The hotel's revitalization program presented a complete transformation of all of the hotel's guestrooms. New wall coverings, window treatments, carpet, seating and decorative light fixtures were installed and each room is now quipped with new heating and air-condition units, plus wall-mounted 40-inch HDTV's. Contemporary design elements were incorporated, including headboards with a design of Cambridge centered on the Charles River. Rejuvenated guest bathrooms include new vanities, tile, plumbing, fixtures, bath accessories and lighting.

The lobby was completely redesigned. A new element of the lobby is the exclusive GoBoard technology, a 55-inch LCD touch screen with local information, maps, weather and news, business and sports headlines. Guests can navigate using the touch screen to find restaurants, local attractions and directions. Guests can connect to free Wi-Fi and there are electrical outlets throughout the lobby to power digital devices. The complimentary business library features two computer terminals, open ports for personal laptops, and a print station.

Dining was completely redesigned with The Bistro - Eat. Drink. Connect., which offers flexible seating. Located on the second floor, The Bistro is brand new. Flexible seating options range from a communal table in the middle, to more private media booths with high-definition televisions, to a more intimate, semi-enclosed lounge area. Another venue is Bisuteki Tokyo, the restaurant located in the hotel lobby; Bisuteki has a full-service cocktail lounge.

Suitable for hosting events for up to 320 people, the Courtyard Boston Cambridge also upgraded its 5,000 square feet of flexible meeting space. The newly revitalized function space includes the 2,600-square-foot Waterfront Ballroom, located on the third floor, with floor-to-ceiling windows with views of the Charles River. Additional meeting rooms are located within the first and second floors, all with windows with natural lighting.

Other onsite amenities at the Courtyard Boston Cambridge include a 24-hour fitness center, 24-hour business center, an indoor swimming pool with whirlpool spa, guest laundry, business center and The Market, a 24/7 shop for snacks and beverages.
