Crowne Plaza Madinah opens in Saudi Arabia

InterContinental Hotels Group (IHG) announced the opening of Crowne Plaza Madinah. The opening of the property marks the first Crowne Plaza hotel in the Holy City.

Crowne Plaza Madinah is located in the center of Madinah, with 506 rooms and suites, including 259 twin standard rooms and 49 king standard rooms. Steps away is Masjid Nabawi, the second holiest site in Islam and one of the largest mosques in the world.

The hotel is being eyed to become a hub for events, meetings and conferences with facilities for corporate travelers. The hotel has a multi-functional business center, five meeting rooms and free Internet access throughout the hotel.

Crowne Plaza Madinah also presents a variety of cuisines. Al Rawdha, the hotel’s all-day-dining restaurant, will have food from the Middle East, Indonesia and India. Orchid Café will present a combination of traditional and international specialties. There will also be the Fish Market, which offers seafood dining.

IHG is currently the largest international hotel company in Saudi Arabia, both by number of hotels (23) and by number of rooms (5,600). Crowne Plaza Madinah is the fourth IHG hotel in the Holy Cities of Madinah and Makkah, alongside three InterContinental hotels: InterContinental Dar Al Iman, InterContinental Dar Al Hijra and InterContinental Dar Al Tawhid.
