Duo of Asian investors compete to buy Australia Hilton hotel

The Herald Sun reports that the Hilton Surfers Paradise, in Surfers Paradise, Australia, is up for sale and two major Chinese investors are vying for it. The hotel was listed this week by owners and developers, Brookfield Multiplex. The hotel component, 169 rooms on the first 15 floors and sub-penthouse suites in the Orchid Tower, is available for purchase.

Brookfield Multiplex last year took the hotel component of the development to an expression-of-interest campaign, seeking offers of around $75 million. Two unnamed China-based parties are eyeing the site. Fellers are also being put out to groups in Malaysia, Thailand and Singapore.
